Word from the Mouth: I Got All These Damn Chores! edition
Let me welcome back everyone who has been reading my articles every week. There might not be tons of you guys, but I know there are a few. It really surprises me that this many of you can actually read (ed’s note: I doubt as surprised as we are that you can write). I guess if you can’t play football, you better be able to read. I just started watching the final season of Last chance U and over the course of the show it’s baffling how dumb some of these guys really are. I know that they might love the game, but you need to use it to your advantage and get your education because not all of you are going to turn pro.
I have friends that went to university on scholarships and even a few who played pro for a few years and they all said that getting their degree was the best thing they could have done. My little brother was offered to go to a bunch of different universities on scholarship, but they wanted him to take a bunch of easy classes. When your goal is to become a teacher for children with special needs you need to take real classes and that is why he went to a school where the coaches understood that the kid’s education comes first and sports second. Use what you can to get ahead, but remember brains are going to last longer than athletic abilities.
Week 4 Recap - Division 1
Gros Coqs vs Outlaws (29-25)
I was only able to catch a few plays from this game and what I saw was a weak ass defense from Outlaws. Twice they allowed deep throws that went for scores. Svetna allowed a guy to get behind him on at least one of those and I could be wrong, but on the second one it looked like it was Svetna and Smuda. Dom rushed for negative yards and I’m not sure when the last time that happened was. Steve is still trying hard to break the all-time picks thrown in one season record, adding another four this week to bring his season total to eight. I though Gros Coqs were going to struggle stopping Smuda and they did, but they also struggled to stop almost everyone else on the roster as well. They gave up tons of yards, but got big picks when they were needed.
Henchmen vs Holy Trollers (7-14)
I won’t talk much about this one as it was a horrible game for both teams. Trollers got lucky to pull out the win, but sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. The Trollers have not been playing well these last few weeks. Henchmen looks to have Kris playing QB the rest of the way which in time will be good. This game was decided by three plays that all happened in the second half. The first one was the one that cost Henchmen the game (ed’s note: how can three plays decide the game when the first one cost a team the game?), it was a great throw from Kris to the new guy Tshitshi who got behind everyone and looked like he was going to score easily except he decided to showboat on his way to the end zone and got tackled by a hustling AJ. Second play that made a huge difference was right after the touchdown saving tackle AJ drops from the corner to the middle of the end zone and makes a one handed pick to keep six off the board. The last play was a two yard drag that AJ took to the house and on his way, I think he made everyone on Henchmen miss a tackle. That left very little time on the clock for Henchmen and on the last play of the game Ben picks off a pass in the end zone to seal the win for the Trollers.

Final Thoughts
I’m on vacation this week, but it really doesn’t feel that way. I have more work to do than if I was actually at work. The wife went out and bought all this furniture and crap, so who do you think gets to put it all together? If you guessed me, you’re right, and oh, I have to repaint the main floor of the house. All these chores suck, but someone has to do it. Just like in football all the grinding and just getting it done doesn’t show up as flash and big things, but without it everything falls apart. Just because you didn’t make the big play that changed the game, every little thing helps contribute to the win. Everyone remember that this is a game and we are here to have fun, so get out and get some exercise. This week go out, have fun, and be safe. Hope to see everyone out there Saturday.
